Serious injuries reported in Niagara Falls crash

On March 25, 2024 at 1:15 p.m., emergency service personnel responded to a report of a serious collision in the City of Niagara Falls.

2 District (Niagara Falls/Niagara on the Lake) uniform officers from the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS), the Niagara Falls Fire Department, and Niagara Emergency Medical Services attended the area of Beechwood Road and Thorold Stone Road.

Investigation revealed that a 23-year-old female from Niagara Falls was operating a black Hyundai northbound on Beechwood Road. A 53-year-old male from Niagara Falls was operating a grey Jeep Wrangler eastbound on Thorold Stone Road, when both vehicles collided.

The 23-year-old female was transported to an out of region by hospital by ORNGE air ambulance with serious injuries. It was later determined the injuries were non life-threatening. The 53-year-old male suffered minor injuries and was not transported to hospital.

Roads remained closed until approximately 5 p.m.

The investigation remains ongoing by uniform patrol members.
