There was no better way to celebrate summer than savouring locally grown fruit, which took centre-stage at the Country Christmas Store's “Just for the Peaches” event this past week.

The must-see event featured the best traditional style breakfast and waffles around, which was followed by a BBQ with hamburgers and sausages. All meals, including dessert, will be featured something “peachy” from DeVries Fruit Farm.

The day also included a local artisan sale featuring several local artisans who had their one-of-a-kind crafts available for sale. In addition to everything peach related, a local Alpaca farmer stopped by on Saturday for petting and also for children and adults alike to learn about the curious creature.

What better way to celebrate not only our local artisans, but to enjoy local homemade food and the opportunity to pick up your fresh peaches,” Jayne Watson said. “It was great to see families come out to enjoy our peach treats and pick up some unique crafts.”

The Country Christmas Store is located at 1794 Centre Street in Ridgeville. Admission and parking are free with the event running from Aug. 8-10. For complete listing of times visit www.thecountrychristmasstore.vpweb.ca.
