Local teens, Michelle VandenHaak and Sophia Bradbury, will be hosting a huge garage sale Aug. 16 to raise funds for a life-changing trip to help build a home for a family in Ensenada, Mexico.

The Grade 11 girls will be travelling in November as part of a team of volunteers with Yugo Ministries. Their goal is to enable a family to live in a safe home, which they hope will help give them a better future. They will also help provide a sense of dignity and ownership, or just a helping hand they needed to be able to get ahead.

A variety of household items, furniture, clothing, and games will be at the garage sale with proceeds going to offset travel and lodging for VandenHaak and Bradbury.

You can support these young ladies by stopping by Pelham Friends Church at 940 Haist St, across from Harold Black Park, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Donations can also be sent in by contacting Pascale VandenHaak at [email protected] or by calling the church at 905-892-6881.
