Tenders cover many projects

The town’s Public Works department recently awarded contracts for 15 projects around town. Duffin Contracting Inc on an $81,600 bid will remove silt and vegetation from the bottom of Swayze Drain.

The town’s Public Works department recently awarded contracts for 15 projects around town.

Anthony’s Excavating with a $40,002 bid will develop the Rail Trail from Foss Road to Centre Street. The walking and riding trail along an abandon railway line between Fenwick and the Welland border is nearing completion and will soon have signs.
Phase 2 of a sanitary sewer video inspection and smoke test in northeast Fonthill is being done by Dynamic Industrial Services Inc for $86,644.
Anthony Excavating is cleaning 18,000 metres of roadside ditches for $88,530. Work includes erosion and drainage improvements.
Circle P Paving Inc has a $136,990 contract for spot repairs to road surfaces throughout the town.
Andrew’s Tree and Shrub Care with a $12,350 bid will inspect trees as part of the town’s tree maintenance program.
Gauboc Construction Limited won a $121,160 contract for concrete curb and sidewalk construction.  A major part of the work is construction of a sidewalk on Church Street in Fenwick from the railway tracks to Martha Court.
Rankin Construction Inc. will do $82,180 of asphalt road reconstruction on the eastside driveway of Hillside Cemetery and the south side of Cross Hill Road.
Two companies, Aesthetics Landscape Contractors ($47,240) for Diamond 2 infield rehabilitation and Touchstone Site Contractors ($45.343) for Diamond 1 backstop and fence replacement will work in Harold Black Park in Fonthill.
Garden Grove Landscaping for $22,796 will plant trees to replace trees that have died.
Duffin Contracting for $18,871 will replace defective sanitary sewer laterals.
K. Smart Associated Limited, with a bid of $44,490, through an engineering study will determine the scope of for a Horton municipal drain to meet the Ontario Drainage Act.
