Don Johnston was remembered with a moment of silence during Monday’s town council meeting.
The former Fonthill volunteer firefighter died Jan. 24.
Mayor Dave Augustyn said he served as a member of the Fonthill Fire Fighters Association from 1963 to 1988 and was with the Niagara District Fire Fighters Association.
Johnston was also a member of the Fonthill and District Kinsmen Club, Fonthill Recreation Committee and the Fonthill Minor Hockey Association.
