“This is like a stepping stone to full approval and simply means they can show support for the project (or not) in a non-binding way,” said CAO Darren Ottaway.

In the Issue Summary Report for item 10.3.3 PCC Approval, staff claim that Ball Construction must go to tender on the design/build electrical and mechanical component soon if they want to keep to the schedule laid out in their timeline presentation on the 22nd of March.

The document further states that “If the decision is not made by the latest May 2nd the project will no longer be able to proceed on the presented timelines, likely resulting in a project start of May 2017.”
